Forest Inside the City - Memorial Park, Houston Part 1 (0)

Wednesday, May 28, 2008 by , under

June is almost here, that means summer is closing soon. Damn, I haven't had enough fun in the Spring temperature yet.

Anyhoo, Faye wanted to ride the bike in Memorial Park last Saturday morning, supposedly one of the good spot for bike riding in Houston. And this is one of those case in which it didn't happen as planned.

Well, we found out the night before that our bike rack only hold 2 bikes but we need to bring three bikes for me, Faye, and Zoe. That's fine, we will just walk or jog then.

Being a very "good" navigator myself, I made the wrong turn and we ended up in the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center. It turns out the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center is quite nice. It has some nice trails behind the center. They even have constructed some platform over some uneven path or muddy area for people to walk on. The most interesting experience is that as we were walking on the path cover by trees, you can still hear cars running on the highway. This will be the ideal place for city dwellers to enjoy the forest, yet can't leave behind the noise of the city.

Forest Inside the City
Can you believe this is actually inside the city?

Path
The nicer path in the park.

Twins?
Zoe and Faye, the look alike sister, on the trail.
